The Two Wrongies to bring ‘Cult of The Wrong’ to Factory
We can’t wait to present The Two Wrongies at Factory. We are also delighted to let you know a bit more about them in advance!
The Two Wrongies celebrate and re-interpret the double act in a funny, crude, un-restrained honest female sort of way. Pushing the Locker Room mentality in a brave exposé of the female psyche, their onstage relationship, playful rivalry and absurdist humour is not for the faint hearted.
The Two Wrongies are Avis Cockbill and Janine Fletcher who share a love of bad jokes, filth and the power of dance. They create work with comic prowess, inspired choreographed moments and a considered visual impact.
The Two Wrongies began in 2005, touring their unique brand of dance comedy with the likes of La Clique, Lost Vagueness, Hoochie Coochie and Voodoo Vaudeville. Their work has featured at the Edinburgh Festival, Electric Picnic Music Festival, Glastonbury, Latitiude Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival and most recently Bar25 in Berlin. In 2008 they were nominated as best female performers at The Brighton Fringe Festival 2008 for ‘The Cabinet of Curiosities’ and sold out their ‘Christmas Special’ at The Basement in December 2008.
In 2010 they will be creating ‘World of Wrong’, a new body of work comprising of a live show, video artworks and public interventions. Mentored by Kim Noble and Stuart Silver with dance direction from Charlotte Vincent.
As for their new show ‘Cult of The Wrong’, well here is a few words on what to expect:
Cast off the restraints of polite behaviour, and lunge into a state of wildly depraved hysteria in a sermon led by those mischievous queens of wrong core The Two Wrongies…‘the double act who dare to do the dirty’. Expect confessionals, expect communion, expect to wrong like you’ve never wronged before!
“Utterly filthy and totally shameless…unforgettably brilliant.”
